Yesterday was a bummer day. I think I woke up and decided to make it a rotten day, and by golly it was a rotten day. No particular reason for the rottenness, just rotten. I have been living this week without a car to drive (we have one here for emergencies, but going to the grocery store isn't much of an emergency), so I've been stuck at home and even though I don't go anywhere anyway, not having the option can make a person rotten. So, when Isaac came home, and I knew he had to go out again in a couple of hours, I tried to put on my best face, but really I needed a hug, and he was there to give me one. I did a quick trip to the grocery store and had said before I went that I would not buy any ICE CREAM. The temptation was killing me though, almost bought some cookies, almost got a latte at the convenient coffee bar in the store . . . but didn't, instead I bought meat (men like meat). Got home, Isaac took the car and left me with a fussy, hungry baby. Jacob ate and I watched Little House of the Prairie (3rd season).
Then, I heard the garage door and wondered why Isaac was back so soon. Well, traffic was bad and he decided to come back home and on the way he stopped at the store and got us some ICE CREAM - that's the spoiled rotten part. So, we ate ice cream watched Little House on the Prairie, put the kid to bed and then watched videos of him on the computer. Well, we weren't just watching videos, we were playing the videos in fast mode (chipmunk mode), and oh my was it funny. Jacob wasn't funny, our voices were killer, talking baby to him really fast and really high. I've got to find a way to post one of the videos in fast mode. We laughed so hard our stomachs hurt. It was good, it was a nice way to end the day.
Today has been better . . . I decided to have a good day even though Jacob was on nap strike, until we took a nap together. He is still lying on our bed napping. Sweet boy.
